It'll never be as big as its New York namesake, but Grayslake's Central Park is undergoing a major growth spurt.
Bob Lashbrook, the park district's executive director, said one of the major projects at Central Park should be finished within 30 days, while the other two are expected to be done in September.
Workers are heading toward completion of a new street that officials say will provide residents with better access to Central Park. As part of the project, 60 new parking spaces are being added to handle overflow cars from Grayslake's aquatic center near Central Park.
