"Father of our country," "Father Time," "Our Father, who art in heaven" - just think of the implications of the word "father." It represents foundation, agelessness and omniscience.
When you substitute words like "pop" and "dad," the job sounds a little less daunting, but the pressure is still there.
We expect a lot from our fathers. We always have. From the grunts who lived in caves whom we needed to hunt and spear ferocious animals to clothe and feed us, to the evolved dad of today, the position of father couldn't be more demanding.
