GETTING THERE
Elephant Butte Lake State Park is 150 miles south of Albuquerque, N.M., 116 miles north of El Paso on Interstate 25 and seven miles north of Truth or Consequences, N.M. State Highway 195 links the interstate to park headquarters. The visitor center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4p.m.
LODGING, FOOD
The park has 102 electric sites for RVs, about 40 picnic shelters, and expanses of sandy beach for tent camping. Buy groceries in Truth or Consequences, 20 minutes away. Marinas sell food, snacks and cooking supplies, but prices generally are higher.
