In the June 10 Sunday New York Times, as there has been on "U.S. Open Week" for probably a generation, was a 15 ad-page Golf Digest preview of the Tulsa, Okla, tournament, that, barring a playoff, was completed yesterday (June 17). Difference in 2001 is that The New York Times Co. [NYT] no longer owns GD, having sold it in January to S.I.
