DETROIT _ For the past five weeks, little has distracted Stephen Weiss. The end of the Plymouth Whalers' season has left his thoughts free to revolve around one topic: the NHL draft.
Now that the moment is a scant three days away, the anticipation is almost unbearable.
"I've been waiting for this date a long time," Weiss said Tuesday. "I can't wait for Saturday. Friday night I might not sleep a wink. I think I'll be pretty nervous once things get going, and when my name is called, I'll be so excited. I can't wait."
Weiss and his family plan to leave for Sunrise, Fla., later this week to attend the annual entry draft, which will be Saturday and ...
