Jun. 20--More than 200 people toured the city Tuesday as their Ohio River excursion boat made a routine stop at Paducah's riverfront.
The RiverBarge River Explorer arrived around 5 a.m. and left about 5 p.m. While passengers shopped in Paducah, the floating hotel was open for tours.
Commissioned on Sept. 24, 1998, the RiverBarge River Explorer is made up of two tank barges, Assistant Barge Master Tom Hudson said. The two single-skin barges, the DeSoto and the La Salle, were built in Nashville in 1974 for carrying petroleum. The hotel was constructed after the ...
