Mount Prospect officials Tuesday approved new rules for massage therapy businesses that allow them to exist in the village while at the same time subjecting them to strict requirements.
The ordinance represents the first time the village has officially recognized massage therapy as a legitimate business practice. Previously, Mount Prospect allowed the practice only if it was a secondary service offered by a business.
Trustees said the ordinance, which is similar to massage therapy laws passed in other suburbs, will show that the village acknowledges the good that legitimate massage therapy can do for ...
