RICHLAND CENTER -- Americans' seemingly insatiable appetite for pizza is good news for Wisconsin's dairy industry.
"The demand for mozzarella keeps growing and growing and growing. People are going to Pizza Hut instead of McDonalds; they're picking up frozen pizza at the grocery store," said Dave Fuhrmann, vice president of the cheese division of Foremost Farms, one of the nation's largest dairy cooperatives.
The Baraboo company has so much faith in the continuing demand for mozzarella cheese that it is completing a $25 million project that transformed a 30-year-old Cheddar cheese plant in Richland Center into a ...
