Jun. 21--NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y.--The idea of a casino in the Niagara Falls Convention and Civic Center had local lawmakers cheering and business leaders reacting with guarded optimism Wednesday.
Mayor Irene J. Elia, who over the years has not been a strong proponent of casino gambling, joined other politicians and tourism officials in embracing the casino as a ticket to further development in the city.
