I was 33 when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was 34 when it killed her. It was the longest year of my life.
Five years into my solo practice, I was beginning to see signs that my hard work was paying off. I hadn't taken a vacation while building my business, but my cases were increasing in number. More important, they were increasing in significance and, consequently, in the fees they generated.
