Jun. 22--This summer, the doors at Tyco/Electronics' Shrewsbury plant are expected to close for good.
Most of the 200 workers at the plant will lose their jobs, with the exception of about 40 workers who will move to the strategic tool and dye center in Jacobus. Company officials are hoping to ease some of the sting involved with the plant closure by asking the federal government to step in and help.
Gary C. Owens, the plant's manager, filed a petition for NAFTA Transitional Adjustment Assistance. The program, which was born out of the North American Free Trade ...
