MONDAY marks the official opening of London's latest luxury hotel Chancery Court, in the former Pearl Assurance building - after more than three years of renovations reputed to have cost its Hong Kong owner [pound]150 million.
Unlike the recent rash of minimalist-inspired hotels, the seven-storey neo-classical building on High Holborn has been restored in sympathy with its Edwardian heritage and features acres of polished marble, traditional carpets and chandeliers.
