Maybe 8 is lucky number for Ch. 7
WHDH-TV (Ch. 7) yesterday named San Francisco news veteran Edward Kosowski news director, making him the eighth person to hold the position since Ed Ansin's Sunbeam Corp. purchased the station in 1993.
He replaces Nancy Nydam, who either resigned or was fired June 7. Kosowski has more than 16 years of major market experience, according to Ch. 7 spokeswoman Ro Dooley, and spent the last three years as news director for ABC-owned-and-operated KGO-TV. On Wednesday he reports to work, where he'll be expected to help the station shore up its flagging news ratings. - MARK A. PERIGARD
