CHENGDU, June 22 Asia Pulse - The American International Group (AIG) received approval recently to open a representative office in Chengdu, the capital of Southwest China's Sichuan Province.
AIG has the largest share on Chinas insurance market among foreign insurance companies. Its subsidiary, AIA, has set up branches in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Foshan.
Senior officials of some leading international insurance companies have come to Chengdu this year to study the possibility of opening facilities.
These companies include Nippon Life Insurance Co., Ltd. CGU of Britain, and others from the Netherlands, France, Italy and Switzerland.
