REPORT: DIOR HIRES FERRE

JULY COUTURE SAID TO MARK FERRE'S START

NEW YORK -- Gianfranco Ferre will become the designer of Christian Dior's couture and ready-to-wear collections, sources have told WWD.

Ferre, the sources said, will begin almost immediately and it is expected he will design the couture collection Dior presents in Paris this July.

Dior is expected to make an announcement of the change this week.

Ferre will succeed Marc Bohan, who has been Dior's principal designer since 1961. Bohan, one of France's leading couturiers and the man responsible for saving the house after Yves Saint Laurent left, had not been ...
