CLEVELAND _ While growing up in Senegal, DeSagana Diop's favorite sport was soccer. Considering he was the tallest boy in school, many of his classmates tried to convince him to play basketball.
There was just one problem.
"In my country, basketball is for girls," Diop said with a laugh.
Diop, who eventually agreed to take up basketball when he was 14, will have the last laugh Wednesday. That's when he is expected to be a lottery pick in the NBA Draft.
Diop is an intriguing center prospect. After having left Oak Hill Academy, a high school in Mouth of Wilson, Va., Diop is the youngest player in the draft at 18 years, 5 months. He is ...
