Well-organized bands of criminals from Mexico, Central America and South America are making a killing by robbing hi-tech companies in the United States and smuggling the stolen merchandise -- for the most part, computer microchips -- south of the border before exporting it to other parts of globe, according to U.S. law enforcement and Mexican computer industry sources.
