It seems to me, you either love bagpipe music or you hate it. There's no in-between.
Me, I love it. It took awhile, but one day I realized suddenly there was a rollicking tune skipping around the gutty drone. And now bagpipes playing that martial air ``Scotland the Brave'' make me wish for a MacTavish among my kinfolk.
All of which makes me glad there is the Sheriff's Pipe Band, as in Chesapeake Sheriff John Newhart. No, he does not take advantage of the fact that he runs the jail and has a pokey full of captive listeners.
