WASHINGTON -- The World Bank's Board of Directors today approved a $102.78 million IDA credit for some of Vietnam's poorest communes (a commune in Vietnam is the lowest administrative unit, comprising several villages and inhabited by some 3,600 people, on average). The credit is part of a joint commitment by the Government of Vietnam and the World Bank to a project worth more than $123 million.
