NEW JERSEY BELL AND IBEW REACH TENTATIVE CONTRACT AGREEMENT
NEWARK, N.J., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- New Jersey Bell and Local 827 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) announced today a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract, thereby ending a strike than began on Aug. 7.
The IBEW represents about 9,200 employees at New Jersey Bell, including splicing technicians and central office technicians.
Bell Atlantic, New Jersey Bell's parent company, announced on Aug. 17 a tentative contract settlement on common issues such as wages, benefits and pensions with the Communications Workers of America (CWA). The CWA ...
