THE Royal Family has saved the taxpayer pounds 3 million in budget cuts, Buckingham Palace announced yesterday.
At an unusual financial briefing in the Palace boiler room, to illustrate economies totalling pounds 200,000 a year in heating and electricity costs, officials said the Royals last year spent pounds 35 million of Government grants, representing a 9 per cent saving on 1999-2000.
