The Crystal Lake American Legion baseball team continued its hot early surge last week.
Post 171 posted a 6-1 record and is currently 15-2 for the summer.
Crystal Lake's success is the result of solid pitching.
Except for the 7 runs, Crystal Lake allowed in last Tuesday's 9- 7 win over Elgin, Post 171 pitchers allowed only 11 runs in five games.
"Our pitchers really established themselves against very good teams," said Crystal Lake manager Bob Bacci. "We got outstanding pitching against good teams."
