A man with a stringy beard and pierced eyebrow peered inside Lorenso Saenz's ice cream cart until he found what he wanted.
Watermelon ice, a coconut-flavored Popsicle and a tri-colored milk bar in the red, white and green of the Mexican flag.
``Thank you,'' he said, handing Saenz three rumpled dollar bills and tossing the Popsicles to his friend in a parked car.
``That's the kind of guy who scares me,'' the 60-year-old ice cream vendor confided with a wry smile as the man drove away.
Saenz is a paletero, one of a small army of Mexican men who crisscross the streets of Denver's west ...
