Jun. 30--A high profile environmental group has staked its opposition to an offshore natural gas pipeline route from Alaska's North Slope to Canada and the Lower 48.
In a report on U.S. energy policy, New York-based Natural Resources Defense Council urged the Bush administration to pursue a course of conservation and efficiency to meet energy demand.
Calling natural gas "the bridge to greater reliance on cleaner and renewable forms of energy," the group does not oppose an Alaska natural gas pipeline from the North Slope to the Lower 48. But if the pipeline is ...
