PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local FEDERAL NATIONAL ELECTRIC ENERGY AGENCY (ANEEL) recently awarded a power line construction contract to Switzerland-based ABB BROWN BOVERI. According to the terms of the award, ABB will be responsible for the design, procurement and construction of all transmission line components. The project will also include 6-500 Kv substations and reactive power compensation equipment. The 2 high-voltage power transmission networks will have a combined length of some 1,300 kms.
The planned system, to be sited in north and northeastern Brazil is intended to increase the transmission capacity of the national power grid. According to ...
