Henkel waste and emissions up in 2000.

Henkel KGaA, the German chemicals and pharmaceuticals multinational, reported an increase in overall waste recycling and disposal of 11.5% to 291,000 tonnes world-wide in 2000, from 261,000 tonnes in 1999. Of this, hazardous waste sent for disposal amounted to 24,000 tonnes, compared with 20,000 tonnes in 1999. According to the group's safety, health and environment (SHE) report for 2000, about 95,000 tonnes of non-hazardous waste went for disposal and 172,000 tonnes of waste were recycled.
