The first lightning bolt hit 15 feet to Daniel Clark's left. It blew out his left eardrum and knocked him to the ground.
Dazed and drenched by rain and hail, Clark rose slowly and looked around. When he saw the hair on his arms standing straight up, he dove to the dirt and curled into a fetal position.
His last memory from that day is of a bright light pulse and a ``hot flash'' that coursed through his body as the second bolt hit.
