Article: Lanao del Sur board replaced by Comelec.(Main News)

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) changed yesterday the composition of the Provincial Board of Canvassers (PBoC) for Lanao del Sur after the board failed to proclaim some of the winning candidates 50 days after the May 14 elections despite the order of the poll body to expedite its canvass proceedings.

The Comelec en banc acted on a petition filed by former congressman Mamintal A. Adiong, a gubernatorial candidate for Lanao del Sur alleging the "ambivalence, indecisiveness, and conflicting positions by the chairman and members" of the PBoC of Lanao del Sur in resolving issues filed before it.
