EADS becomes a top performer in all sectors of defence and aerospace business, after merging Aerospatiale Matra (France), Dasa (Germany) Casa (Spain) just one year ago, in July 2000. Last year, the European Aeronautic Defence and Space company, jointly managed by Philippe Camus and Rainer Hertrich, had sales exceeding24 billion [European Dollars] and nearly 88,000 employees. It's the no1 aerospace and defence group in Europe and no3 worldwide ... but soon no2 ! Also, with a consolidated defence business of approx.5 billion [European Dollars], EADS is now the European second-player, ex aequo with Thales.
