At a time when many companies in the Denver area are trying to sublease their excess office space, MoneyGram Payment Systems Inc. is building new offices in Lakewood to house its fast-growing business.
Opus Northwest LLC plans to begin construction in August on the $12 million, 68,000-square-foot building in Academy Park near South Wadsworth Boulevard and West Hampden Avenue.
The new building will be two blocks from MoneyGram's current 72,000-square-foot office where 500 people work.
