Angry councillors rounded on Birmingham social services committee chairwoman Susanna McCorry last night, blaming her for the city's hospital bed blocking crisis and demanding her resignation.

Conservative group leader David Roy said he had no confidence in Coun McCorry's ability to provide additional places in residential and nursing homes for hundreds of elderly people 'failed' by the system.

Coun Roy told a meeting of the full city council: 'It is time for Coun McCorry ...
