TEXAS REP. OPPOSES BILL WITH NEW INS. RESTRICTIONS
The chairman of the Texas House Insurance Committee called a press conference in Austin May 10 to announce opposition to a slate of controversial insurance reform amendments added to Texas SB 255 on the state Senate floor in April.
Texas Rep. John Gavin said he would draft a House committee substitute to the bill which strips it of amendments added by Texas Sen. Ted Lyon, (D-Rockwall). SB 255, as amended, passed the Senate and is before Rep. Gavin's committee.
