ARLINGTON, Texas -- Stan Javier is lost to the Mariners, and probably for longer than the 15-day minimum that a stop on the disabled list requires.
Javier, who says he expects to have a magnetic resonance imaging test on his left knee today, was placed on the disabled list yesterday as the Mariners promoted pitcher Joel Pineiro from Class AAA Tacoma.
During an at-bat Monday night, Javier's spikes caught in the dirt at home plate. The Mariners are describing the injury as a pinched tendon in the back of his left knee, but the full extent of the injury won't be known until the results of the MRI are ...
