It is appropriate, given the recent passing of Emmett Watson, that the words of the P-I's longtime columnist be employed to help describe a little pregame "excitement" in the AL's Kingdome clubhouse prior to the 1979 All-Star Game.
The place had been awash, all afternoon, with stern-looking Secret Service men and bomb-sniffing dogs - the advance guard for erstwhile President Ford, a guest that night of Mariners owner Danny Kaye.
