FASB 95 a tool for identifying cash flow problems
The Financial Accounting Standards Board Statement 95 (FASB 95) requires a business to prepare an annual statement of cash flows.
Although excluded from the scope of FASB 95, many not-for-profit organizations are also developing cash flow data for reporting purposes.
Cash flow is a serious problem for many not-for-profit healthcare organizations, according to a recent survey of Volunteer Hospitals of America (VHA) affiliates conducted by the authors. Increasing expenditures and delays in collecting receivables are causing many hospitals' cash flow positions to worsen.
