LE ROY, N.Y.-LAPP Insulator L.L.C., a manufacturer of high-voltage porcelain insulators and bushings, has acquired the high-voltage insulator division of CeramTec A.G. to expand LAPP's product line for the electric power industry.
CeramTec's High Voltage Insulator Division of Wunsiedel, Germany, produces ceramic and polymer insulators used in electrical power transmission, electrical substation and railway applications. LAPP becomes the world's second-largest electrical insulator producer with the purchase, according to a company statement. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
