Microsoft Exchange 2000, the latest version of Redmond's flagship e- mail server, officially went on sale Tuesday.
The release date was carefully timed so Microsoft would have something flashy to show at its Exchange and Collaboration Solutions Conference 2000 in Dallas this week. Along with Exchange, both the standard and Enterprise versions, Redmond also said the new Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server is shipping.
It would have been excruciatingly embarrassing if Microsoft hadn't had Exchange 2000 ready for its conference. It's already missed 11 internal ship dates, the earliest last spring, and meeting the Exchange conference deadline was a nightmare ...
