Postage meter giant Pitney Bowes hasn't made inroads into Internet postage.
Nearly a year after Pitney launched ClickStamp Online, its PC postage service is still way behind Stamps.com in market share. ClickStamp lets users download and print postage from their PCs without a hardware device and is like Stamps.com's Internet postage product. Consumers of both need to download a client software to print.
According to Roy Gordon, US Postal Service's manager for the information-based Indicia Program, Pitney accounts for about 6% of the total PC postage subscriber base of 465,000. In contrast, Stamps.com holds a commanding 82%. Two other vendors, Neopost and ...
