Jul. 9--Eight children and 18 grandchildren might be enough to keep some retirees busy -- not Frank Torrens.

The former president of Cherry-Burrell in Cedar Rapids (now Evergreen Packaging Equipment) likes having a job he can focus on to keep his mind sharp during retirement, and he's found it as a counselor and vice chairman of the Cedar Rapids SCORE chapter.

SCORE, the Service Corps of Retired Executives, provides free counseling to those starting out in business from the U.S. Small Business Administration Office at 215 Fourth Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids.
