Article: Sixth Bidder Emerges for Boston Red Sox; New York Lawyer Leads Group.

Jul. 11--There is another bidder for the Boston Red Sox: a group led by New York businessman Miles Prentice.

Like the five other contenders vying to be the next owner of the franchise, Prentice has been cleared by Major League Baseball to review the team's confidential financial records, but until now his name had not surfaced as approved bidder.

Prentice could not be reached for comment last night, but according to financial sources, his team includes several New Englanders, and Prentice is in talks with several wealthy Bostonians who may soon join in his bid.
