Jul. 10--It was 1976 when Darby McQuade laid out a few pots he had picked up in Mexico on the lawn of a business on East Alameda and launched what was to become one of Santa Fe's best-known businesses.
This weekend, 25 years later, McQuade is throwing a public party to celebrate the continuing success of Jackalope, which now consists not only of the main store on Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe but other stores in Bernalillo, Albuquerque, Parker, Colo., and, most recently, North Hollywood, Calif.
