Ottawa--The Liberal government has introduced Bill C-78 (An Act to establish the Public Sector Investment Board, and amend various Acts) for second reading debate.
Bill C-78 will delete the words "surviving spouse," "spouse," and, in some cases, "wives" or "widow" in the Public Service Superannuation Act, Canadian Forces Superannuation Act, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Superannuation Act, the Defence Services Pension Continuation Act, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pension Continuation Act, and the Members of Parliament Retiring Allowances Act, and replace these well understood terms with the terms "survivor" or "survivors."
