Rome--The Vatican Council for Justice and Peace is preparing to publish a 'Social Catechism' towards the end of the Jubilee year.

Archbishop Francois Nguyen Van Thuan, president of the Council, states that the Social Catechism is intended to inform lay Catholics who hold positions of responsibility in their various countries. These are people who, although good Catholics, may "work in the opposite direction of what the social doctrine of the Church indicates... precisely, because they do not know it sufficiently."
