Barry Bonds hit his 39th home run on June 23. That gave him more home runs than any major leaguer in history at the All-Star break - and the break still was 15 days away.
Bonds is in Seattle to participate in his 10th All-Star Game. His home run total stood at 39. San Francisco had played 14 games since that last homer.
There were dozens of reporters and numerous minicams surrounding Bonds on Monday morning, looking for an answer to the sudden end to his home run surge.
"Can't you do something good for a while, and then stop doing it?" Bonds said. "Does there have to be an explanation?
