NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 11, 2001

In a landmark decision today, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled in favor of e-publisher RosettaBooks against plaintiff Random House, Inc.

In doing so, the court has upheld the e-publisher's right to negotiate electronic publishing deals with the legal holders of these copyrights, the authors themselves.
