President Arroyo allayed fears yesterday that a state of rebellion was a prelude to the declaration of martial law, as this would be lifted as soon as the threat of rebellion is eliminated.

At the same time, the President appealed to the people to give her their full trust and to help the government go back to normal.

"I have no intentions of declaring martial law. I hope they (opposition) will not provoke me. Our national security climate is strong and will remain so," she stressed during yesterday's press conference in Malacanang.
