DETROIT _ Hispanic professionals are getting short-changed when they choose Hispanics as professional mentors instead of choosing non-Hispanic mentors, suggests a new study.
Hispanic business professionals with Hispanic mentors earned an average of $12,000 less than their Hispanic counterparts who had non-Hispanic mentors, according to a study by Arizona State's College of Business and the National Society of Hispanic MBAs.
The study, published in April, found the average annual salary for Hispanics with non-Hispanic mentors was $71,000 compared with $59,000 for those who had Hispanic mentors. Hispanic professionals with no mentors averaged $63,000 a ...
