Robb Nen arrives at Safeco Field today, but he should have been here all week.
The San Francisco Giants closer didn't make the All-Star team despite leading the National League with 26 saves at the break. Houston's Billy Wagner made the team with 19 saves, and not because the Astros needed a representative; Moises Alou and Lance Berkman were picked as well. Mets manager Bobby Valentine, the NL All-Star skipper who managed the Texas Rangers when Nen came up in that organization, apparently does not remember him with fondness.
So as if Nen's 90-mph slider weren't enough, he heads into a three-game series ...
