Closer to home at 1420 Peachtree St., executives at National Service Industries want Robert S. Jepson Jr. to rebuild two of its solid but perennially laggard businesses.

NSI last month decided to split itself in two. Jepson, 58, agreed to run the new NSI, comprising National Linen Service, one of the nation's largest textile rental companies, and Atlantic Envelope Co. It will have a separately traded stock.
