Fredericton--On August 22, 1999, the English provincial school board in New Brunswick defeated a motion to overhaul the high school sex education program 8-2. The program is referred to in several articles in the province's papers as "largely mechanics-oriented," the "physics and chemistry" side taking precedence over relational education and mature decision-making training. The program is ten years old.
